Early Adopter Pricing

Institutions committing to renew or upgrade subscriptions before 31st January 2024 will receive a lower price, while subscriptions received after 31st January will be billed at a higher rate. These pricing bands will be applied to all of our journals, including our journal packages. 

We have chosen to introduce this pricing system because, while we are limited in our options regarding price rises this year, we would like to thank those subscribers who show clear support for our publishing and open access programme with this reward initiative. Our standard payment terms apply, but if you would like to commit and are concerned about payment please contact subscriptions@ems.press to discuss how we can best facilitate you. 

We have also opted to increase the price of our print subscriptions at a higher rate than that of our digital subscriptions this year. While we will keep offering our print programme for those who need it, we have to cover drastically increased printing and shipping costs, and feel that as an organisation we must promote positive change for the sake of our environment. We have therefore implemented a “green tax” on our printed journal subscriptions.

New Subscriptions/Renewals

Subscriptions are entered into per calendar year and will automatically renew unless otherwise specified.

EMS Press will contact all subscribers without auto-renewal in the quarter prior to subscription expiry, in order to ensure service is not disrupted due to lapsed subscriptions. This may be in addition to any renewal notices sent by agent partners.

Digital subscriptions are provided via IP authentication. Print subscriptions also include digital access. Please refer to our terms of digital access for license information.

Subscription Rates and Agent Discounts

All prices are subject to change without prior notice. Existing subscribers will be notified in such an event.Prices are not VAT inclusive. Customers in the EU outside of Germany and without a valid VAT ID and customers in Germany are advised that VAT will be applied on invoicing. Prices include shipping and handling where applicable.

Cancellation policy

Digital

Subscribers have the right to cancel within 14 days of access being granted for a full refund. If the cancellation occurs within the first 14 days of a new subscription (not a renewal), all content access will be revoked. 

Cancellations requested after the initial 14 day period are not eligible for refund. Content will be provided until the end of the subscription period. Access to any content covered by the subscription will be maintained in perpetuity.

Print

Subscribers have the right to cancel within 14 days of dispatch of the first issue for a full refund. Cancellations requested after this time will be refunded on a prorated basis.

In the case that digital content has been accessed, we reserve the right to revert to our digital cancellation policy and refund only the difference between a print and digital subscription.

Other Information

Changes of Address

Please report any change of address at least 4 weeks before it is to take effect, giving both current and future address, and the title of the journal(s) to which you subscribe. 

Claims

Claims for journal issues not received should be made promptly - at the very latest immediately upon receipt of the issue succeeding the missing issue.

Claims for print books not received as part of the eBook print add-on should be made within one calendar year after publication.

All prices are subject to change and do not include shipping and handling.

All orders must be paid in Euro and are dispatched upon payment. Orders are subject to national VAT regulations.

Returns must be preauthorised - failure to do so will result in delays and refunds may not be processed.
