Exponent of self-similar finite -groups

Abstract
Let be a prime and a pro- group of finite rank that admits a faithful, self-similar action on the -ary rooted tree. We prove that if the set is a nontrivial subgroup for some , then is a finite -group with exponent at most . This applies, in particular, to power abelian -groups.
