Abstract
We provide a condensed presentation of the main features of high-order discretization methods for PDEs, based on variational formulations (h-N spectral element methods, h-p finite element methods). We also illustrate an application of high-order methods to the numerical discretization of stochastic PDEs by fully deterministic techniques.
