On the vanishing viscosity approximation to the Cauchy problem for a 2×2 system of conservation laws

Abstract
This paper is concerned with a non-strictly hyperbolic system of conservation laws. We study the existence of weak solutions to the associated Cauchy problem, in the framework of , using the methods of compensated compactness. Some previous results for quadratic systems have been generalized.
Résumé
Étant donné un certain système de lois de conservation faiblement hyperbolique, on étudie l’existence d’une solution faible dans du problème de Cauchy associé en utilisant les méthodes de la compacité par compensation. De cette façon, on généralise quelques-uns des résultats connus pour les systèmes quadratiques.
