Constructions of torsion-free countable, amenable, weakly mixing groups

Abstract

In this note, we construct countable, torsion-free, amenable, weakly mixing groups, which answer a question of V. Bergelson. Some results related to verbal subgroups and crystallographic groups are also presented.
