Published by the European Mathematical Society with the support of the Portuguese Science Foundation.
Since its foundation in 1937, Portugaliae Mathematica has aimed at publishing high-level research articles in all branches of mathematics. With great efforts by its founders, the journal was able to publish articles by some of the best mathematicians of the time. In 2001 a New Series of Portugaliae Mathematica was started, reaffirming the purpose of maintaining a high-level research journal in mathematics with a wide range scope.
The journal is indexed in zbMATH Open, and Mathematical Reviews, in Scopus and Web of Science (in the Science Citation Index Extended database, thus in the Journal Citation Reports), as well as in DOAJ.
The journal is owned by the Portuguese Mathematical Society and it adheres to the European Mathematical Society Code of Practice and the publisher's Code of Conduct and Publishing Ethics.
Portugaliae Mathematica is published in one volume per annum, four issues per volume, approximately 400 pages.
