A Semi-Group Theoretical Analysis of a Finite Element Method for a Linearized Viscous Shallow-Water System

Abstract
A finite element step-by-step time integration scheme of a model linear viscous shallow-water system is analyzed by the approximation theory for semi-groups of linear operators. Strong convergence and 0(h+τ) error estimate in _L_2-sense are established.
