Abstract

Zanaboni in 1937 published three notes in the Rendiconti in which he proposed a modified version and new proof of Saint-Venant’s principle applicable to bodies not necessarily cylindrical in shape. Examples are presented to illustrate that Zanaboni’s version is not universally applicable.
