Abstract

Given ϵ>0\epsilon > 0, we compute a function taking prescribed values at NN given points in R2\mathbb{R}^2, whose C2C^2-norm is within a factor (1+ϵ)(1 + \epsilon) of least possible. The computation takes C(ϵ)NlogNC ( \epsilon ) N \log N computer operations.
