On the Volume Infimum for Liquid Bridges

Abstract

We consider the “Carter conjecture”, that any stable liquid bridge in zero gravity, joining two parallel plates separated by a distance h and meeting each plate with constant angle, has volume greater than or equal to . We prove the conjecture in the case of the two contact angles being equal.
