Interpolation and Transmutation

Abstract

We show that the existence of a transmutation between two self-adjoint operators $L_1$ and $L_2$ is equivalent to the existence of an interpolation operator in the spectral variable. This equivalence helps construct a transmutation operator between abstract self-adjoint operators.
