EMS Press is looking for a detail-oriented freelancer with strong technical skills.
EMS Press is looking for a freelancer offering copyediting and typesetting services for our portfolio of journals. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be tasked with preparing articles for print.
Role description
Typesetting and (light) copyediting of journal articles in LaTeX
Creating the galley proofs
Communication with the authors
Incorporating the authors’ corrections
Providing the final source and PDF files
Requirements
Master’s degree or higher in mathematics, physics, computer science or any related field
Advanced knowledge of LaTeX and mathematical typesetting
Excellent written English skills
Interest in and basic knowledge of typography
Strong attention to detail
Own equipment
Preferred
Basic programming skills (for example, using regular expressions)
Native English speaker
Previous typesetting experience in academic publishing
