EMS Press is Hiring! Freelance Copyeditor and Typesetter [Closed]

EMS Press is looking for a freelancer offering copyediting and typesetting services for our portfolio of journals. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be tasked with preparing articles for print.

Role description

• Typesetting and (light) copyediting of journal articles in LaTeX

• Creating the galley proofs

• Communication with the authors

• Incorporating the authors’ corrections

• Providing the final source and PDF files 

Requirements

• Master’s degree or higher in mathematics, physics, computer science or any related field

• Advanced knowledge of LaTeX and mathematical typesetting

• Excellent written English skills

• Interest in and basic knowledge of typography

• Strong attention to detail

• Own equipment

Preferred

• Basic programming skills (for example, using regular expressions)

• Native English speaker

• Previous typesetting experience in academic publishing
