EMS Press partners with theIPregistry.org to create a centralized IP authentication system that streamlines access management, reducing administrative burden and improving security.

We are delighted to announce a new partnership with theIPregistry.org from PSI, enhancing access management for the more than 1,400 libraries and institutions worldwide that work with us. This collaboration simplifies the process of verifying and updating institutional IP addresses, reducing administrative workload and minimizing errors in authentication. By leveraging theIPregistry.org’s centralized database, which maintains verified IP addresses for over 72,000 organizations, EMS Press enables institutions to ensure their access credentials are always up to date without the need for manual interventions.
By integrating with theIPregistry.org, libraries using its publishing platform can seamlessly manage access to subscribed content. Instead of manually updating IP addresses across multiple publisher systems, institutions can now submit changes in a single location, which are then automatically synchronized with our authentication system. This eliminates discrepancies, prevents unauthorized access, and ensures uninterrupted availability of scholarly resources. Additionally, libraries receive real-time alerts about potential issues, such as conflicting or outdated IP addresses, allowing them to address problems proactively.
“Our partnership with theIPregistry.org reflects our commitment to improving the experience of our library partners,” said Laura Simonite, Head of Business Development at EMS Press. “By streamlining the management of IP addresses, we are not only reducing the administrative burden for institutions but also ensuring secure and uninterrupted access to our publications. We recognize the challenges libraries face in maintaining accurate records, and this integration provides a reliable solution that supports their vital work in the scholarly publishing ecosystem.”
To submit IP address updates to EMS Press you need to submit them via theIPregistry.org and let us know your PSI Org ID(s). Once approved all IP addresses updates are received from theIPregistry.org through the LibLynx platform and automatically updated in our authentication system.
