Recent progress on sparse equidistribution

Abstract

Given a dynamical system $(X,T)$ and a sequence of natural numbers $(a_n)$, one can study the distribution of the sequence $\{T^{a_n}x\}$ for a given $x\in X$. In this note, we survey recent progress on this topic. We also discuss some open problems.
