Sign patterns of the Liouville function

Abstract

The last two decades have seen remarkable advances in our understanding of important arithmetic functions. We describe the intertwining of major developments in ergodic theory, number theory and additive combinatorics, leading to recent progress made towards the Chowla and Sarnak conjectures.
