Books of this series published between 1 January 2022 and 31 December 2023 are accessible as open access under our Subscribe to Open model.

The Memoirs of the European Mathematical Society publish outstanding research contributions in individual volumes, in all areas of mathematics and with a particular focus on works that are longer and more comprehensive than usual research articles.

The collection's editorial board consists of the editors-in-chief of the Journal of the European Mathematical Society and the EMS Surveys in Mathematical Sciences, along with editors of book series of the publishing house of the EMS as well as other distinguished mathematicians.

All submitted works will go through a highly selective peer-review process.

The Memoirs are indexed in zbMATH Open and Mathematical Reviews.

The Memoirs are owned by the European Mathematical Society and adhere to its Code of Practice.

Authors are requested to submit their work electronically in PDF format, using the online submission form. For more information regarding the submission process, please write to editorial@ems.press.

A minimum length of 80 pages is expected.

The following information is required along with the submission, included in the submitted PDF file:

  • Full name(s) of author(s) together with email address(es)
  • Complete mailing address(es)
  • Name of a corresponding author
  • Abstract
  • 2020 Mathematics Subject Classification
  • Keywords describing the subject matter of the work

Submission of a manuscript implies that the work described has not been published before and that it is not under consideration for publication elsewhere.

The Memoirs of the European Mathematical Society adhere to the EMS Code of Practice.

Peer Review

The Memoirs of the European Mathematical Society operates a single blind peer review process.

Preparation of Manuscripts

We strongly encourage authors to make available LaTeX files for typesetting purposes. Upon final acceptance, authors will be asked to submit all source files and macros together with a PDF file.

Once a work has been accepted for publication, authors are kindly asked to

  • download the file MEMS.zip;

  • follow the instructions included in the zip file;

  • submit their manuscript in well-structured LaTeX using the template and the style file contained in the zip file.

Authors will receive a set of galley proofs of their work for final corrections.

Open Access

The Memoirs of the European Mathematical Society is a Subscribe to Open (S2O) journal, which means that articles may be published open access. There are no author fees or article processing charges associated with this mode of open access. Open access articles are published under the CC-BY 4.0 license. Authors may review our Terms of Digital Access for further information regarding licenses and repository deposits.
